Kayden is now 16 days old! He is such a good baby! We have been so blessed! He is not fussy at all and when he does get sad he is good at calming himself down. The only time he really cries is when we change his diaper or at bath time. He sleeps in his crib really well and wakes every 2-3hrs to eat and then goes back to sleep. He is becoming much more alert with what is around him- constantly scanning the room when awake to see what is around him- focusing on lights and people voices. He is funny to watch because he acts the same way he did while in the womb- his hands always have to be up to his face and he really enjoys sucking on his fingers. He also likes to place with his tongue and stick it out etc. In my previous posts I always mentioned that in my ultrasounds he had his hands up to his face and in one of them he stuck his tongue out at us. Its cute to watch. =)
This last week my mom was out here and was a great help with things- helping with the house and making it more "home like" and cooking us great meals. We were very greatful to have her visit and sad when she left. My sister- Angie made it out here as well with her friend and my nephew Ashton. We had a great time visiting with them as well. This week Kevs parents are coming and we excited for more company! We love having people out here and Kayden loves the company!
Thank you to everybody who has been sending gifts and cards- its greatly appreciated!!!! Kayden is so excited to get boy clothes rather then just green and yellow stuff! =) (Kev is pretty excited too) Thank you SO much for thinking of us! It means a lot!

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!

Kayden Anthony came into the world at 6:26 pm on May 9th, 2008- 3 weeks early!! He was 6lbs 1oz and 20.5inches long. First off let me say- what an amazing experience!
Kev was out of town for the week (go figure) and Wednesday I had braxton hicks all day- but they seemed to chill out after a while. Thursday I had a couple but still worked out and went home. Not long after I got home that night is when things started. I started the contractions again but just wasnt sure if they would last since the ones the night before went away. But lets just say by 4am they were 5minutes apart and I was home alone- not able to get a hold of Kevin! Luckily- a few nights earlier I went on a walk and met the neighbors. (she happens to be 8mths preg) They made me take their number when I told them Kev was out of town but I never thought I would have to call them! I gave in and called her (Terri) at 5am when I couldnt handle it anymore. Thank god she was able to take me to the hospital! In the meantime- Kevs mom and dad and my mom were trying to track him down - which they did around 6am. He had a 3hour drive but he made it. Terri ended up staying with us the whole time (we love her for that...and it was her bday!) I progressed very quicky and by 6:26 pm- and less then an hour of pushing- Kayden was here!!!! We laugh at how much he resembles his daddy! He us just perfect and at this time still adjusting to life outside the womb. =) We feel so blessed and are absolutely in love. Kev is doing great with him and couldnt be a better daddy- everything is coming natural for him. Let's just say this was the best mothers day ever! Ill keep you updated with pics and notes on this blog about Kayden. As for now- we are off to our 1st pediatrician appt!

37 wks!

Well I made it to the mark where Baby K can be born and wouldn't be considered a preemie! It's amazing how fast time has gone and wierd how much our lives will be changing in a matter of weeks. We are beyond excited though....and yes- nervous! I feel huge even though people still say that I am small. It makes me feel bad for the women that actually do get "huge" because daily activities are a struggle! =)
The move went very well and Kev and I love the area that we are in. We say the only thing that is missing from here is family and friends. We couldn't be happier about his placement and where we chose to live- so that's a good thing! We are already planning a trip home at the end of June/early July. We are excited to bring baby K home to show off. =)
The week after we moved out here we attended a 2day birthing class. Kev wasn't too excited about it but in the end we both agreed that it wasn't bad at all. It actually gave us a lot of good info to help us prepare more for the birth etc. I'm am glad that we were able to attend it.
Baby K is doing great. You can tell s/he is running out of room but mangages to still do a good job at kicking me in the ribs. I am enjoying being able to feel the different body parts etc. The baby's most comfortable position seems to be sticking its bottom up in the air because my belly is always lopsided when it decides to get comfortable. A lot of times when it sleeps it does this so Kev and I always rub its bottom. =) It's neat to see and feel the legs and feet as well. I will definitely miss being pregnant for many reasons and one of them is feeling the baby move. I'm still so fascinated by it!
But so far so good- Baby is still head down and measuring right where it should be. I would guess it being a little over 7lbs when it's born.
Not much longer!!! We will keep everyone updated on what's happening! Yay! Baby K is almost here!!!! =)
